I managed to get the garage mostly prepped today. We moved into our new house several months ago, and we had basically dumped everything from our garage, garden shed and loft into the garage. A few weeks ago I sorted out most of the stuff, so at least I could get into the garage. Today I did the remaining tasks in getting the garage build ready.

Key things I did:

– Setup a WiFi point in the garage – I will need this for both music and for reading blogs when I get stuck.

– Installed an old set of creative speakers. They  sound good – mainly because they have a sub. It is only the garage, but I do like a decent sound system!

– Got a new tool chest. I have had a Clarke 9 draw tool chest for a while, but it was getting to cramped and the plan was always to add on the cabinet at the bottom when it was time to build the car. It looks great, if only my skills were up to it. I believe the phrase is “ all the gear and no idea!”

– Put up a clock, known as “build time”

– Replaced the old single fluorescent tubes and fittings with double fittings and LED tubes — the difference is amazing.

– Put the fridge on eBay! Should be sold and collected in 5 days.

– Setup the gas space heater that my Dad kindly gave me. I am hoping that I won’t need it on much throughout the build.

I now feel more or less ready for when the kit arrives. It now looks like this (apologies for the few boxes in the way!)
