A frustrating day today – the plan was to get the headlights on, and then crack on with the anti roll bar (and hopefully the horn and radiator), but none of that happened.
Issue 1 – According to the build manual, the indicator attaches to the indicator pod by self-tapping screws. There are no self tapping screws in the fixings at all. I could guess an use other fixings, but I don’t want to be short elsewhere. So, my first call to Derek at Caterham (the build expert) – I left a Voicemail, and should be getting a call back soon.
Issue 2 – The headlight bracket doesn’t line up with the bracket. The wishbone fits fine, so the issue is with the bracket:
Off to B&Q to pickup a Dremel and grinding attachment, (and some black Hammerite).
My first experience with a Dremel is good – I managed to grind down the bracket, but it needs 2 coats of paint .. and drying time is 4 hours 🙁
